Our Wines

The Sonnenberg (literally ‘sun mountain’) in the beautiful area of Vinschgau in South Tyrol gets its name with good reason. It is almost entirely facing south. Our vines, which cover over around four hectares of the slopes of the Sonnenberg, also get to bathe in sunlight.

The great thing about our grapes is that they are grown at 1,000-1,200 metres above sea level, where they can really flourish.

This is only possible as the climate has become milder at these heights. In spring 2009, we planted a vineyard with ten different types of grape on an experimental basis. Once our experiment showed signs of success, we began to expand the vineyard year after year.

In 2013, the first year in which we bottled wine, we produced three white wines from Kerner, Solaris and Scheurebe grapes and one red wine from Pinot Noir grapes. Our Solaris wine immediately won third place in the wine tasting carried out by the Freiburg State Viticultural Institute.

In 2014, we added another red wine made from Zweigelt grapes. We have also been growing Riesling grapes since 2020.

Our mission is clear – in a challenging location and as a family business, to produce top-class, authentic wines that are highly regarded by wine connoisseurs all over Europe.
